An Introduction To This Article

The Australian retail market has been undergoing significant transformations, first there was Covid and then two global e-commerce giants, Shein and Temu, have completely disrupted the local retail market in just two years.

Australian ABC News reports Shian and Temu have collected more than $2billion in 12-months from Australian online shoppers. While $2billion is a lot, Auspost reports that the total amount Aussies spent online for retail during 2022 was $353 billion so we are still spending with Aussie retailers but the impact of Shian and Temu over such a short time is not to be ignored.

This podcast episode explores the raise of Shian and Temu and briefly looks at how Australian small business owners can start planning to compete with these two global disrupters.
